(w)hole

She lives in exclamation, on the edge of ravines
that eat good girls gone prom queens.

One night, I talk her down from a fight,
away from the scene into my clean
kitchen, my hot-cocoa voice
chases her choice
of Jack, and in the morning light,

the noise of the EPIC
fades into the everyday.
